Betty A. Edwards, 86, of Resthave Home in Morrison, IL, formerly of Fulton, IL, died Monday, November 7, 201, at Resthave.
Betty was born November 23, 1929, in Mechanicsville, IA, to Harold and Libby (Hartman) Longerbeam. She was educated in the Mt. Vernon, IA, grade schools and was a graduate of Mt. Vernon High School. On August 13, 1948, she married Richard T. Edwards at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. He died August 3, 2010. Betty had been employed by the Bank and Trust Co. in Mt. Vernon, and also as a teller at the Fulton State Bank in Fulton, IL. She was a member of Fulton Presbyterian Church, a charter member of the Fulton Country Club, and a member of the Bluffs Golf Course in Zolfo Springs, FL. Betty was active with various church committees throughout the years.
Survivors include one daughter, Patricia (Michael) Reynolds of Fulton; one son, Dennis (Cheryl) Edwards of Fulton; four grandchildren, Bryan (Amy) Reynolds, Adam Reynolds, Jeff (Emily) Edwards, and Libe (Terry) Flack; eight great-grandchildren, Caleb, Aiden, and Liliana Reynolds, Ava, Kylie, Joel, and Wyatt Edwards, Christie and Callie DeYoung.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; one sister, Dorothy Steinocher; one brother in infancy, Lloyd Longerbeam.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 12:00 p.m., Saturday, November 12, 2016, at the Fulton Presbyterian Church, Fulton, IL
OFFICIATING: Rev. Ron Lott, Pastor of First Baptist Church in Clinton, IA
VISITATION: 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 12, 2016, until the time of the service at the Fulton Presbyterian Church, Fulton, IL
Cremation rites will be accorded.
A memorial to Fulton Presbyterian Church has been established.
