Beth Lizdas-Huizenga, 62, of Prophetstown, IL, died Friday, January 23, 2015, at her home.
Beth was born December 29, 1952, in Prophetstown, to William V. and Rose L. (DeBord) Lizdas. She was educated in the Prophetstown Grade schools and was a graduate of Prophetstown High School. She also attended Sauk Valley Community College in Dixon, IL. Beth was employed for 22 years as a Certified Nurses Aid at various area nursing homes. She was also employed as a school bus driver for R. C. Smith Transportation and as a kitchen aid for the Morrison High School, both in Morrison, IL. Most recently, she worked at Self Help Enterprises in Sterling, IL, as a floor supervisor. Beth was a professional basketball fan and avid Chicago Bears fan. She greatly enjoyed the companionship of her dog, Lucy. She enjoyed the country lifestyle, crocheting, and spending time along the river.
Survivors include one daughter, Kelly (Ken) Rottman of East Moline, IL; two sons, Randy (Julie) Huizenga of East Moline, and Jamie (Shantel) Huizenga of Morrison; two grandchildren, Caitlyn Stern and Kyle Shere; one brother, William Lizdas of Davenport, FL; special friends, Linda Powell-Pilgrim of Prophetstown; Keith M. Closs of Los Angeles, CA; Sally Bannick-Zickert of Lyndon, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Michael Huizenga; one brother, Richard Lizdas.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
There will be no visitation or memorial service.
GRAVESIDE COMMITTAL SERVICE: 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 28, 2015, at the Lyndon Township Cemetery, Lyndon, IL
