On Wednesday, April 6, 2022, the Editor asked Brian Bartoz to explain his involvement in the preparation of 1500 plastic eggs, in advance of the annual Kiwanis/Key Club Easter Egg Hunt, on Saturday, April 9. Bartoz teaches Driver Education and American Government and is the Scholastic Bowl Coach at Morrison High School.

Read Assistant Editor Jerry Lindsey’s egg stuffing feature.

“We had a great turnout for the Kiwanis Easter Egg Hunt egg stuffing event! A few younger students attended (perhaps related to some of the Kiwanis members), but most of the volunteers were MHS Key Club members. I serve as one of four advisors to Morrison’s Key Club chapter. The other advisors are Gwenn Rickertsen (English); Annie Palmer (English); Jennifer Stevenson (District #6 Librarian.) Steve Davis, President of Morrison Kiwanis Club, discussed details regarding the April 9 Easter Egg Hunt with Key Club members during a…meeting at MHS on Tuesday, April 5. Mr. Davis did an outstanding job communicating the structure of the Easter Egg Hunt to me by e-mail, during the past month, and I recruited Key Club members to volunteer during the event. Using details supplied by [him], …student Sarah Weston designed the…promotional flyer that is displayed in a number of store windows and community locations, including the Odell [Public] Library. Mrs. Rickertsen was instrumental in connecting me with Mr. Davis; [she] has coordinated Key Club’s involvement in the Easter Egg Hunt for many years.

“The MHS students who volunteered for the egg stuffing were Danielle Fulton, Karalynn Kirkpatrick, Brooklynn Knouse, Lauren Rubright, Sarah Weston, and Kadince Williams.

“Also present was Kiwanis member Tony Fulton, a Morrison HS Class of 2021 alumnus, along with many Morrison Kiwanis volunteers.”

Jerry Lindsey took this picture showing Fulton at left wearing a face mask and Bartoz standing at right.
