The vote was unanimous to offer a contract to Barry Dykhuizen as City Administrator of Morrison, IL. He will return to familiar surroundings and begin his duties “sometime in the middle of October 2013,” stated Mayor Everett Pannier in a press release, after the Thursday, August 29, City of Morrison Special Council Meeting.
The new City Administrator attended Fulton, IL, Unity Christian Elementary School and was graduated from Morrison High School. He earned a B.A. in Psychology from Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago, IL, in 2005 and a Masters of Public Service from DePaul University in Chicago in 2008.
Dykhuizen has been Guttenberg, IA, City Manager since 2007. He “has an excellant background in community planning, infrastructure improvements, and economic development,” wrote the Mayor.
He is “married [to Tara] with three small children,” including a four-year-old son [Gabe] and two-year-old twins, Wil and Anne.
Dykhuizen’s annual salary was set “not to exceed $77,000.”
