On Wednesday, December 1, 2022, Abbi Manning opened a home boarding kennel for dogs only, conveniently located at 18420 Lyndon Road, Morrison, IL, four miles north of U. S. Highway 30. There are seven pens. At the owner’s request, two dogs may be penned together. Barnyard Kennels is open daily, but please call for hours of operation.
“I’ve had dogs my whole life,” she stated, and she worked at Morrison Veterinary Clinic. “I have been dog sitting in my home for 20 years.”
In the kennel there is a living area with a couch, where play time outside the pen is encouraged. “All dogs are given their own time to be part of our family,” explained Manning. “Toys, beds, blankets, or whatever you want them to have are welcome but not necessary.”
“I do not take aggressive dogs, neither dog-aggressive nor human-aggressive,” she added. “We are a family business and won’t tolerate aggression.”
• All dogs are required to have rabies, distemper, and bordatella up to date, two weeks prior to arrival.
• Dogs must be flea treated, but flea collars are not allowed.
• Females in heat will not be accepted.
• Clients need to supply their pet’s food in a closed container, to avoid digestive problems.
• Manning will administer pet medications if needed.
