During a visit to Resthave Home, 408 Maple Avenue, Morrison IL, Monday, May 11, 2015, Mayor Everett Panier proclaimed Sunday, May 10, through Saturday, May 16, as National Nursing Home week.
Mayor Panier defined the week, because, “Whereas the citizens of Morrison, IL, now residing in nursing homes have contributed immeasurably to the heritage, success, and growth of our community; and whereas nursing home residents of any age or ability are themselves living history and a precious resource….”
He also urged “every citizen to honor the elderly and disabled residents of nursing homes by visiting or volunteering at a local nursing home, to bring good cheer to the residents and appreciation to the staff who care for our most valuable citizens on our behalf.”
Residents and staff launched colorful balloons to mark the occasion.
Karla Burn, Resthave Marketing Director, stated, “Resthave has many additional fun activities planned to celebrate National Nursing Home Week.”
