Morrison Junior High School Principal Joe Robbins reported, “Today[, Thursday, August 25, 2016,] is our first home Volleyball game at Morrison Junior High School[, 305 E. Winfield Street], and Meet the Players is tonight at Morrison High School[, 643 Genesee Avenue, Morrison, IL]. Brooke and Abby Huizenga both want to be here for them.”
“Since today is [their mother] Shannon[ Huizenga]’s 42nd birthday, and since Abby is on the 8th grade
Volleyball team, the 8th grade Volleyball team has decided to release 42 balloons in honor/memory of her birthday.”
Twenty-one balloons of blue and 21 of green symbolize the colors of Team Shannon t-shirts.
“We will be releasing the balloons between the 7th and 8th grade games at approximately 5:00 p.m., depending on the time of the 7th grade game.”
“Erie[, IL, Volleyball players] have offered to participate in the event as well. I will give a quick speech in the gym about the release. We will then go outside, sing Happy Birthday, and release the balloons.”
