Balanced scoring aided the Morrison Fillies to record their first varsity win of the season by dropping the Bureau Valley Lady Storm 49-32.
The Morrison Mustangs are creating a habit of starting slow as they fell behind the Bureau Valley Storm in the first quarter and failed to climb the hill back losing to the Storm by a 62-40 margin.
Morrison entered the Forreston HolidayTournament as a #14 seed and opened play against the #3 seeded Freeport Aquin Bulldogs. The opening quarter proved to be the difference as Freeport jumped out to a 24-8 first quarter lead and coasted to a 62-42 win.
The Morrison Mustangs followed their best offensive outing on Friday evening with their meekest perfprmance to date by scoring only twenty-two points in their loss to the Erie Cardinals 36-22.
A twenty-point third quarter was to much for the Morrison Fillies to overcome as they only reached double-figure points in one quarter.Ashley Greul carried the Filly offense by totaling seventeen and only received scoring assistance from three other teammates.
The Morrison Mustangs journeyed to Kewanee and battled back from an early first quarter deficit to fall three points short 71-68.
The Erie Lady Cardinals came out Thursday night with full-court pressure and hot shooting and frustrated the Morrison Fillies to gain an early advantage. The Fillies only scored in double digits in the second quarter as the Cardinals doubled the score to win by a margin of 64-32.

The Morrison Mustangs opened the season by traveling to Princeton for the first game of a busy week competing in the Sauk Valley Shootout.
Morrison senior, Calvin Harridge, was named to the 2012 Illinois Football Coaches Association All-State Class 2A football team. Calvin is one of eighteen players selected in Class 2A by the coaches . Harridge was co-captain of the 2012 Mustangs and a contributing member of two state Class 2A State Champions
The Morrison Scholastic bow teaml, coached by Adam Smith, initiated the 2012-13 season by defeating Newman and losing close matches to Fulton and Bureau Valley.
