August 31 Sheriff’s Office Report

These arrests are merely a charge, and he/she is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

8-23-15 at 9:51 a.m.  Whiteside County Deputies conducted a traffic stop in rural Morrison, IL, for speeding.  Upon further investigation, a passenger, Donald L. Nelson, age 52 of Princeton, IL, was arrested for Unlawful Use of Revoked Driver’s License.  Nelson was issued a Notice to Appear and was released on scene.  Also, the driver, Laura L. Moyle, age 53 of Princeton, was issued a citation for Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle.  Moyle was also released on scene with a Notice to Appear.

8-23-15 at 11:47 a.m.  Whiteside County Deputies conducted a traffic stop in rural Fulton, IL, for speeding.  Upon further investigation, Rebekah J. Ebensberger, age 35 of Clinton, IA, was arrested for No Valid Driver’s License.  Ebensberger was released on scene with a Notice to Appear.

8-24-15 at 7:39 a.m.  Whiteside County Deputies responded to rural Sterling, IL, for a reported suspicious person.  Upon arrival, Deputies discovered Joseph A. Veselko, age 32 of Clinton, IA.  Upon further investigation, Veselko began resisting, and the Whiteside County K9 Nikom was deployed.  Veselko was arrested for Resisting/Obstructing, Possession of Cannabis 2.5-to-10 Grams, and a U. S. Federal Marshal warrant for Violation of Probation–Manufacture of Methamphetamines.  After Veselko was arrested, he was transported to the Morrison Community Hospital, where he was treated for minor injuries, and then to the Whiteside County Jail, where he was processed and held for his Federal Warrant.  Sterling Police, Rock Falls Police, and the Illinois State Police assisted on scene.

8-25-15 at 2:09 a.m.  Whiteside County Deputies conducted an investigated stop on Lyndon Road near Ward Road.  Upon further investigation, the driver, Jacob M. Bieneman, age 18 of Rock Falls, IL, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence, Driving Under the Influence with alcohol concentration about .08, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  Passenger Ashley J. Bell, age 18 of Rock Falls, was arrested for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and passenger Clayton T. Huett, age 23 of Morrison, IL, was arrested for a Whiteside County Warrant for Failure to Appear-Rioting.  Both Bieneman and Bell were transported without incident to the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office and released with a Notice to Appear.  Clayton was transported to the Whiteside County Jail and held in lieu of bond.  Morrison Police and Hunter’s Towing assisted on scene.

8-28-15 at 12:10 p.m.  Sierra C. Burress, age 19 of Prophetstown, IL, was arrested for Burglary–Place of Worship Warrant.  She was remanded to the Whiteside County Jail without incident.

8-28-15 at 7:13 p.m.  Whiteside County Deputies conducted a traffic stop on IL Route 78 near Lyndon, IL, for speeding.  Upon further investigation, Christopher J. Corbin, age 38 of Prophetstown, IL, was arrested for Speeding, Driving Under the Influence, Driving Under the Influence with alcohol concentration about .08, and Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle.  Corbin was transported without incident to the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office and released with a Notice to Appear.  Prophetstown Police and R & K Towing assisted on scene. 

8-28-15 at 10:34 p.m.  Whiteside County Deputies conducted a traffic stop in Sterling, IL, for No Headlights When Required.  Upon further investigation, the driver, Elijah R. Scanlan, age 18 of Sterling, was cited for Operating Uninsured Motor Vehicle.

8-29-15 at 9:55 a.m.  Whiteside County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a single-vehicle crash on the on-ramp to eastbound Interstate 88 at milemarker 36, rural Sterling, IL.  A semi-tractor trailer driven by Terry L. Schroeder, age 51 of Scottsbluff, NE, negotiated the curve too fast for conditions and lost control of the tractor-trailer, causing it to enter the ditch and jackknife.  Terry was slightly injured in the crash, transported to CGH in Sterling, and released after treatment.  Then, Terry was cited for the offense of Too Fast for Conditions and released on bond.  Sterling Fire, Rock Falls Fire, CGH EMS, and Ince’s Towing assisted on scene.

8-29-15 at 11:44 p.m.  Whiteside County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted a traffic stop in rural Morrison, IL, for Speeding.  Upon further investigation, Nathan J. Burnell, age 28 of Morrisonn, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence and Driving Under the Influence with alcohol concentration about .08. Burnell was transported to the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office for further processing and released with a Notice to Appear.

8-30-15 at 2:48 a.m.  Whiteside County Deputies responded to Interstate 88 at milemarker 43 for a reported suspicious person.  Upon arrival, Deputies discovered Christopher D. Warren, age 19 of Rock Falls, IL.  Upon further investigation, Warren was arrested for Unlawful Consumption of Liquor under the age of 21.  Warren was issued a Notice to Appear and a future court date.  After Warren was arrested, he was transported to CGH Medical Center, where he was treated for minor injuries and released into parental supervision.  Rock Falls Police, Illinois State Police, and CGH EMS assisted on scene.

8-30-15 at 5:50 a.m.  Sierra L. Gillman, age 19 of Rock Falls, IL, was stopped for speeding on U. S. Route 30 near Yager Road.  She was ultimately arrested for Speeding 68/55 MPH and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, processed at the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office, and released on bond without incident.  Hunter’s Towing assisted on scene.

8-30-15 at 7:46 a.m.  Whiteside County Deputies responded to a Residential Burglary in progress involving two suspects in rural Fulton, IL.  Upon further investigation, Deputies arrested Shannon E. Cook-Brown, age 43 of Clinton, IA, for Residential Burglary and Criminal Trespass to Residence.  A short time later, Deputies discovered the second subject, who emerged from the woods and was identified as Jodi L. Williams, age 31 of Grinnell, IA, and was also arrested for Residential Burglary and Criminal Trespass to Residence.  Both Cook-Brown and Williams were transported to the Whiteside County Jail and were held in lieu of bond.

8/31/15 9:20 p.m.  Whiteside County Sheriff’s Deputies investigated a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 88 at milemarker 43.  A pickup truck pulling a trailer driven by Dean P. Elder, 57, of Cordova, IL, was westbound on Interstate 88, when he lost control from a blowout tire.  He entered the median, then crossed over the eastbound lanes, where the gooseneck trailer flipped on its side.  The truck continued into the south ditch and collided with a fence.  Dean was not injured.  He was cited for Unsafe Tires and released on a Notice to Appear.  Illinois State Police and Rock Falls Police and Fire assisted.
