08-29-15 at 4:24 p.m. Whiteside County Deputies investigated the report of a single-vehicle, roll-over crash involving injuries on Illinois Route 78 about a quarter mile south of Moline Road in rural Lyndon, IL. According to witnesses, the vehicle involved was traveling northbound on Illinois Route 78 when it left the roadway and rolled. The driver, Timothy E. Boonstra, age 39 of Morrison, IL, was ejected from the vehicle, because the seat belt was not utilized. Ultimately, the driver was pronounced dead at the scene by Whiteside County Coroner Joe McDonald. The eight-year-old male passenger, who was properly restrained, was transported from the scene by Prophetstown[, IL,] Ambulance to CGH in Sterling, IL, with non-life-threatening injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
