August 24 Sheriff’s Office Report

These arrests are merely a charge, and he/she is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

On 8/21/2020 at 9:06 p.m., Whiteside County Deputies were dispatched to the area of French and Walnut Streets in rural Rock Falls, IL, for a vehicle vs. house crash.  Upon further investigation, Henri Bauby, age 19 of Dixon, IL, was traveling southbound in his Ford Focus, when he disobeyed the stop sign, continued traveling southbound into the ditch, and struck the ditch, causing the vehicle to travel into the side yard of a house.  Bauby, a frontseat passenger, Brody Ivey, age 19 of Rock Falls, and a backseat passenger, Colin Roberts, age 19 of Rock Falls, were seen by CGH EMS and released.  Bauby was cited for Disobeying a Stop Sign.  CGH EMS, Rock Falls Fire Department, Rock Falls Police, and Williams’ Towing assisted on scene.

On 8/21/2020 at 9:10 p.m., Whiteside County Deputies responded to a vehicle vs. utility Police crash on Blue Goose Road, south of Clark Road.  The crash caused the utility pole to break in half, and power lines separated from the pole.  This caused a power outage to multiple residents in the area.  Upon further investigation, the driver, Logan Rayhorn, age 19 of Polo, IL, was cited for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident.  There were no injuries reported in the crash.  Milledgeville Police Department, Slim-n-Hank’s Auto Body, and Com-Ed assisted on scene.

On 8/22/2020 at 12:22 a.m., Heather N. Pitchford, age 33 of Dixon,IL, was stopped on U. S. Route 30 east of Morrison, IL, for an equipment violation and cited for Unlawful Possession of Adult Use Cannabis in a Motor Vehicle.  She was released on bond, pending a court date in Morrison on Monday, September 21.

On 8-22-2020 at 3:25 a.m., Deputies responded to a single-vehicle crash at Pilgrim and Lyndon Roads intersection.  David J. Lohnes, age 19 of Chadwick, IL, was traveling westbound on Pilgrim Road when he failed to stop for the stop sign and struck an embankment on the west side of the intersection.  David was later arrested and charged with: Disobeying a Stop Sign, Unlawful Possession of Adult Use Cannabis in a Motor Vehicle, and Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Crash.  Hunter’s Towing assisted on scene.

On 8/22/2020 at 9:44 p.m., Whiteside County Deputies were patrolling Sinnissippi Park due to on-going issues, when a Deputy observed a Nissan Altima with four occupants in the vehicle.  Upon further investigation, the driver, a 16-year-old male, was cited for GDL-One Passenger Limit.  The front seat passenger, a 16-year-old male, was cited for Possession of Adult Use of Cannabis in a motor vehicle.  The two 15-year-old female, backseat passengers were picked up by a parent.  Sterling Police and Illinois State Police assisted on scene.

On 8/22/2020 at 10:42 p.m., Whiteside County Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of Lynn Boulevard and Route 40, in Sterling, IL, on a motorcycle for speed.  The motorcyclist failed to obey to the Deputies over-head emergency lights and traveled southbound through the Kroger’s parking lot, turning westbound onto W. 23rd Street, at speeds exceeding 80 miles per hour, in a 30 mile per hour zone.  While the motorcyclist was approaching the intersection of Griswold Avenue, the motorcyclist laid the bike down causing him to flip over the bike.  As the Deputy arrived to render aide, the male subject attempted to flee on the motorcycle again.  The Deputy attempted to apprehend the subject and place him under arrest, but the subject resisted.  That led to the male subject being tased and crashing into the side of the Deputy’s squad.  The male then fled into the nearby wooded area, where he was ultimately apprehended.  Upon further investigation, Greg Bollman, age 46 of Sterling, was identified to be the driver.  Greg was evaluated by CGH EMS, refused treatment, and was transported to the Whiteside County Jail.  He was charged with the following:  Driving While License Revoked; Operating Uninsured Motor Vehicle; Speeding (two counts); Aggravated Battery to a Peace Officer (three counts); Aggravated Fleeing or Attempting to Elude a Peace Officer (two counts); Possession of Methamphetamine under five Grams; Unlawful Use of Registration; Resisting/Obstructing a Police Officer with injury.  The Deputy received treatment at CGH Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries sustained during the altercation and was released.  Sterling Police Department, Illinois State Police, Erie Police Department, CGH EMS, and Slim-n-Hank’s Auto Body assisted on scene.

On 8/23/2020 at 2:18 a.m., Whiteside County Deputies conducted a traffic stop at Lincolnway near N. Jackson Street in the City of Morrison, IL, for improper lane usage and inoperable registration lamp.  Upon further investigation, the driver, Collin J. Wegley, age 30 of Wilmington, IL, was arrested for Possession of Adult Use Cannabis in a Motor Vehicle-driver.  The passenger, Nathan Theodore, age 29 of Morrison, was also arrested for Possession of Adult Use Cannabis in a Motor Vehicle-passenger.  Both were released from the traffic stop with a Notice to Appear.  Morrison Police Department assisted on scene.
