On Saturday, August 22, 2020, Whiteside County Deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash with injuries on U. S. Route 30 east of Millard Road. Upon arrival, preliminary investigation showed both vehicles were eastbound. The driver of Unit 2, Grant Wiegert of Luray, VA, was transported to University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City, IA, by MedForce Aeromedical Transport Helicopter, due to injuries sustained as a result of the crash. Driver of Unit 1, Kolynn Nelson of Clinton, IA, refused medical treatment on scene. Two citations were issued to Nelson for Failure to Reduce Speed and No Valid Driver’s License. Kolynn was released on a mandatory Notice to Appear Court date.
Whiteside County Deputies were assisted by Morrison Police Department, Morrison Fire Department, Morrison ambulance, Fulton Police Department, Illinois State Police, and MedForce Aeromedical Transport.
