August 15 Emmanuel Reformed Church Service

Posted by

Plan to join us on Sunday, August 15, 2021, and feel free to come a little early and grab a cup of coffee in the Welcome Center, before going into the sanctuary for the 9:00 a.m. Worship service.  All are welcome and are reminded that Emmanuel Church is a “come as you are” family, and dress clothes are certainly not necessary.

Pastor Luke Schouten continues his message series, “Armor of God” with “Shield of Faith,” drawn from Ephesians 6: 16.  Kathy Green will provide the special music and will sing “Arms of Love.”  Exaltation will lead the Worship set, and Ministry Coordinator Rich Criss will serve as Organist.  Coffee and fellowship follow Worship in the Christ Center.  Invite your friends!!

Emmanuel Church will host its 8th Annual Car Show on Saturday, August 28, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the Whiteside County Fairgrounds.  There will be a Pancake Breakfast served from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. and lunch stands provided by the Kiwanis and Morrison High Cheerleaders.

Sunday, August 29, will be a very special day.  Congregations of Ebenezer and Emmanuel Churches will join together for Worship, followed by a potluck.  This year the combined service will be held at Ebenezer at 9:30 a.m., with Pastors Luke and J. T. Bean joining forces to present the message.  A combined praise team and combined choir will provide music.  The Sacrament of Holy Communion will be celebrated.  Mark your calendars for this collaborative morning.

More information is readily available on the church’s website, www.emmanuelreformedchurch.org or by calling the Office at 815-772-3890.
