Audrey Mae Sandrock, 82, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2016, peacefully surrounded by her loving family at CGH Medical Center in Sterling, IL.
She was born on March 15, 1934, in Sterling the daughter of Clarence ad Alice (Hinrichs) Ackland. She married Carlyle Sandrock on December 10, 1950, in Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rock Falls, IL. He died October 20, 2012. They were blessed to have celebrated 61 happy years together and were the parents of four children. She was a supportive wife to Carlyle, and, later in life, she returned to earn her LPN degree. She enjoyed caring for others. Audrey had also worked at the former Hillcrest Greenhouse in Prophetstown, IL; Morrison Community Hospital; Good Samaritan Nursing Home. She was a member of the West Hume Ladies; First Lutheran Church in Prophetstown and the First Congregational Church in Prophetstown. She enjoyed doing puzzles and embroidering in her spare time.
Surviving are her four children, Mark (Kathy) Sandrock of Prophetstown, Christine (Douglas) Johnson of Mahomet, IL,, Duane (Ann) Sandrock of Plant City, FL, and Steven (Jen) Sandrock of Morrison, IL; eight grandchildren, Marcus Sandrock (Amber Davis) and Brian (Elizabeth) Sandrock both of Prophetsown, Matthew (Jennifer) Johnson of Normal, IL, Nicole (Chase) Bushman of Morton, IL, Scott Sandrock (Jacy Woodworth) and Bradley Sandrock both of Prophetstown; Anthony (Tammy) Fields and Wendy (Mike) Thomas both of Plant City; eight great-grandchildren, Stephanie, Rebecca, and Blake Sandrock of Prophetstown, Madelyn Johnson of Normal, Meshael Fields, Misty (David) Jimenez, Melinda Fields, Erika (Tyler) Kuhn, and Kaylin Thomas of Plant City; seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Carlyle.
Visitation will be Tuesday, August 2, 2016, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at McDonald Funeral Home, 45 Grove Street, Rt 78 North, in Prophetstown, IL.
Funeral services will follow on Wednesday, August 3, 2016, at 10:30 a.m., in First Congregational Church in Prophetstown, IL.
Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Prophetstown, IL.
A memorial will be established.
