As the beginning of Lent, Ash Wednesday services will be held on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at the following six Morrison, IL, churches. The public is welcome to attend any service, morning or evening.
Bethesda Lutheran Church, 301 W. South Street, offers a 7:00 p.m. message, a choir, Imposition of Ashes, and Holy Communion.
First Presbyterian Church of Morrison, 100 E. Lincolnway, offers a 7:00 p.m. service with Imposition of Ashes.
Morrison United Methodist Church, 200 W. Lincolnway, offers Imposition of Ashes for walk-ins during office hours, 9:00 a.m. to noon; a 6:30 p.m. service with Imposition of Ashes.
St. Anne’s Episcopal Church, 401 N. Cherry Street, offers 9:00 a.m. Morning Prayer with Imposition of Ashes; 5:30 p.m. Holy Eucharist with Imposition of Ashes.
St. Mary Catholic Church, 13320 Garden Plain Road, offers an 8:15 a.m. and a 6:00 p.m. Mass with Imposition of Ashes and Holy Communion. (Friday night, February 16, will begin 5:30 Masses and 6:00 Stations of the Cross.)
St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church LCMS, 601 N. Jackson Street, offers a 6:30 p.m. service with Imposition of Ashes. (Note: Wednesday Lenten services will be held at 6:30; Sunday services are now at 10:45 a.m.)
