April 10 Track Meet Change

The Morrison High School track meet has been rescheduled for today, Friday, April 10, 2015, with a 4:00 p.m. start time.  As of now, Thursday, April 9, cancelled baseball and softball events have not been rescheduled.

Hear the Bells from 2:15 to 2:19 p.m.

Consolidated Election Day

Whiteside County, IL, polls will be open from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7, 2015, to allow voting in the Consolidated Election.

March 25 Track and Softball Changes

Today’s Wednesday, March 25, 2015, track meet with Sherrard, and Riverdale, IL, has been cancelled.  Also tonight’s softball games have been moved to Orion, IL, with a 4:30 p.m. start time.

Snow Alters Ball Game Schedules

Morrison, IL, Athletic Director Gregg Dolan announced these changes. Due to weather conditions [on Monday, March 23, 2015,] baseball and softball games have been rescheduled.  Softball will play at home on Wednesday, March 25, at 4:30 p.m.  The baseball games have been set for Tuesday, March 31. The Friday, March 20, 2015, baseball schedule has been changed.  The Varsity game will be played at Rock Falls, IL, with a 4:30 p.m. start time.  The Fresh/Soph game has been rescheduled for Friday, May 15.

From Monday, March 23, to Friday, March 27, 2015, Grove Hill Cemetery maintenance staff will remove and discard gravesite decorations, as part of the annual clean-up program at Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison, IL.  Return–or add new– decorations after Friday, March 27.

A welcome sign of Spring’s approach is Daylight Saving Time, which begins Sunday, March 8, 2015.  Reset all time pieces and appliances ahead one hour on Saturday evening, March 7, or on Sunday.  Don’t forget vehicle clocks and watches not currently worn.  Smartphones will adjust themselves while you sleep.

Train Blocks Access to Schools

Due to mechanical failure, there is a train blocking all crossings in Morrison, IL.  Use Garden Plain Road coming to all schools south of the railroad tracks.  It is expected the train will be moved by 8:30 or 8:45 a.m.  The Vocational bus will be delayed until 7:45 a.m.
