arlene eissensArlene Eissens, 90, of Resthave Home in Morrison, IL, formerly of Thomson, IL, died Sunday July 17, 2016, at Resthave Home.

Arlene was born August 12, 1925, in Fulton, IL, to Jerry G. and Grace (Hook) Sikkema. She was educated in the Fulton, and Thomson, IL schools. Arlene married Charlie E. Eissens on February 11, 1943, in Fulton. He died September 6, 2003. She and Charlie farmed and raised their four children in rural Thomson. She was a member of Spring Valley Reformed Church in Fulton. Arlene loved sewing, crocheting, and many other crafts. She was known for her home-cooked meals.

Survivors include three daughters, Lynne Keneson of Crown Point, IN, Audrey (Mark) Kooi of Morrison, and Arlette Snyder of Savanna, IL; one son, James (Peggy) Eissens of Morrison; seven grandchildren, Michael (Noel) Keneson, Tracy (Roger) Van Drunen, Matt (Kathryn) Kooi, David (Kat) Kooi, Nathan Kooi, Jeff (Deb) Eissens, Janelle Kehl; 13 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Pauline Kitteringham of Clinton, IA; one brother, Russell (Darlene) Sikkema of Fulton.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charlie; two sisters, Henrietta Maring and Renette Swanson; two brothers, Gaylord and Allen Sikkema; four great -grandchildren.

FUNERAL SERVICE:  10:00 a.m., Friday, July 22, 2016, at Spring Valley Reformed Church in Fulton, IL

OFFICIATING:  Rev. Ralph Beidler, Pastor of Spring Valley Reformed Church

VISITATION:  5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, July 21, 2016, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home

Interment:  Fulton Township Cemetery

A memorial to Spring Valley Reformed Church has been established.
