Ardetta Pearl Hayner (1921 – 2022)

Ardetta Pearl Hayner, 101, formerly of Morrison, IL, passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2022, at Avonlea Cottage in Milan, IL.

Ardetta was born on October 22, 1921, in Morrison, the daughter of Forest and Gladys (Crump) Belt. She graduated from Lyndon High School and later attended Illinois State University, where she earned her teaching degree. Ardetta married Henry Hayner on February 5, 1947, in Rock Falls, IL. She worked at Sauk Valley College and as Henry’s partner, for the family’s heating and cooling business, before retiring in 1984.

Ardetta was a member of Fenton United Methodist Church; she enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles, and traveling. Most of all she enjoyed the company of her grandkids.

Ardetta is survived by her son, David (Mary) Hayner, of Milan, IL; daughter, Jalene (Glenn) Carter, of Rockton, IL; sister-in-law, Linnea Belt, of Morrison; five grandchildren, Scott (Angela) Carter, James (Stephanie) Carter, Jennifer Dail, Lee (Jamie) Hayner, and Kim (Matt) Hutchins; 12 great-grandchildren, Miranda, Abigail, Wyatt, Cordelia, and Beatrice Carter, Kelsey, Mason, and Jack Dail, Brett and Allison Hayner, and Olivia and Louis Hutchins.

She was preceded in death by her husband Henry and brother, Frank Belt.

Services will be held on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at Fenton United Methodist Church, Fenton, IL.

Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., prior to the Service at the church.

Burial will be in the Lyndon Cemetery, Lyndon, IL.

Memorials may be made to Avonlea Cottage in Milan, IL; Fenton United Methodist Church; the Alzheimer’s Association.
