Editor’s note:  Viewers everywhere of this article are welcome to take/receive Holy Communion/Holy Eucharist with Emmanuel Reformed Church.

CommunionThe community is invited to join a live-stream of the Maundy Thursday service on Thursday, April 9, 2020, at 7:00 p.m. and the virtual receiving of Communion led by Pastor Al Pruis of Emmanuel Reformed Church.  In an effort to continue the traditional service within the guidelines of the COVID-19 [social distancing], the church asks interested citizens to provide their own elements (a wafer or cracker and any juice) and follow the service on Facebook.  Upon Pastor Pruis’s blessing and offering of the element, those watching will partake together.

The service can be viewed as a live-stream, by opening Emmanuel Reformed Church on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/emmanuelreformedchurchmorrison/) at the appointed hour.

Live Streaming Guidelines:  The current virus pandemic has generated elements of change for many.  Emmanuel Reformed Church of Morrison is offering assistance to allow church services to be seen and participated in throughout this crisis.  In an effort to make the livestream more accessible for those who are not connected on Facebook, a link has been added to the Facebook livestream on the church website.

1) Go to the church’s page www.Emmanulereformedchurch.org.
2) Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the Facebook icon, (lower case “f” encompassed by a blue square.)  This will take you directly to the Church’s Facebook page.
3) Scroll down to “past videos.”
4) Click on “live video.”

Notice:  Once on the Emmanuel Reformed Church Facebook page, Facebook will try to get you to create an account.  It is unnecessary.  Disregard any pop-ups that ask you to log in or create an account.

Timing is important.  Make sure you don’t attempt to connect too early.  There will be a countdown clock beginning at five minutes before the start of the service.  If you try to find the “livestream” sooner than five minutes before start of the service, it likely will not connect.  You will have to refresh the Facebook page, repeat the process, and click on the “Live Video” again.

If you have questions, contact the church office at 815-772-3890.

Remember, until further notice Emmanuel Reformed Church will live-stream each Sunday morning service at 9:00 a.m., on Facebook.
