Morrison Mustangs Varsity used a big third inning to beat Amboy, 12-2 in five innings on Saturday, April 4, 2015, after a seven-run explosion in the third inning. A Morrison victory continued into the second round of a double header.

Morrison Mustangs Varsity scored in the third on a two-run single by Mason Sitzmore, a passed ball, an error, a two-run single by Chance Bender, and a single by Ethan Fischbach.
Bender put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for Morrison Mustangs Varsity.
Ryan VanZuiden got it done on the rubber on the way to a win. He allowed two runs over five innings. VanZuiden struck out five, walked two, and gave up five hits.
Fischbach, Sitzmore, Bender and Brock Smith helped lead to the Morrison victory. They combined for eight hits and six RBI’s.
Thake ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He allowed 12 runs in four innings, walked two, and struck out five.
The top of the first saw Amboy take an early lead, 2-0. Amboy’s rally started when Clack doubled. A single by Crownhart then moved Clack from second to third. Amboy pushed more runs across when Crownhart scored on an RBI single by Barlow.
Morrison tallied one run in each of the first, second, and fifth innings. In the first, the Mustangs scored on a sacrifice fly by Fischbach, plating Andy Bird.
They increased the lead with two runs in the fourth. VanZuiden kicked things off with a single, scoring Justin Jensen. That was followed by Smith’s single, bringing home VanZuiden.
Morrison Mustangs Varsity tacked on another run in the fifth. Bender’s triple got things going. That was followed by Bender’s triple.
