Morrison’s Heritage Museum opens for the 2023 season on Sunday, April 30, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Each month features a Sunday afternoon program with topics of general interest. The building is accessible to all from the back parking area, at 202 E. Lincolnway, Morrison, IL.
Morrison Historical Society Trustee Marc Gravert is Guest Speaker on April 30. His presentation is titled “Learning About Our Amish Neighbors.” Bring your questions and a friend or family member.
Refreshments will be served. Spend some time upstairs and down, examining displays which reference only Morrison’s heritage and history. Constructed in 1865, as a Congregational Church, the building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The museum then will be open two days a week, May through late November. Regular hours–from 1:00 to 4:00–resume Saturday, May 6, and Sunday, May 7. Appointments may be made for visits on others days, by contacting MHS Board President Harvey Zuidema at 815-772-3084.
