At 12:02 a.m. on Wednesday, April 23, 2014, the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Department, along with the Sterling, IL, Police Department and Rock Falls, IL, Police Department, responded to a 911 Robbery call at Casey’s General Store, located at 2806 W. 4th Street in Sterling. An employee stated two white males, one wearing a black ski mask, the other wearing some type of clothing over his face, to hide their identities entered the store and demanded money. Both males were wearing dark hoodies and shorts. The males stole an undisclosed amount of cash from the cash register. No employees were hurt during the incident.
