April 22 Sheriff’s Office Report

These arrests are merely a charge, and he/she is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

On 4/19/19 at 7:05 p.m., Whiteside County Deputies, Sterling Fire, Rock Falls Fire, and CGH EMS responded to a single-vehicle crash on Agnew Road at Mathew Road, rural Sterling, IL.  Upon further investigation, Alisha E. Funderberg, age 28 of Sterling, was traveling at a high rate of speed southbound on Agnew Road and failed to negotiate the T Intersection with Mathew Road.  Her vehicle slid into a tree, causing major damage to the vehicle along with occupant injury.  Alisha, and her five children of varying ages, were transported to CGH Medical Center by CGH EMS; one child was transferred to Rockford Memorial, Rockford, IL, for further treatment.  Charges of Disobeying a Stop Sign, Reckless Driving, and Endangering the Life and Health of a Child were filed against Funderberg along with other possible charges, pending further investigation.  Dustin J. Funderberg, age 36 of Rock Falls, was arrested on a valid Whiteside County Warrant for an Order of Commitment.  He was transported to the Whiteside County Jail, where he was held in lieu of bond.  Slim-n-Hank’s Towing assisted on scene.

On 4/19/19 at 11:01 p.m., Whiteside County Deputies conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of U. S. Route 30 and Hillside Road, rural Morrison, IL, for no rear registration light.  The driver, Eric Jones, age 54 of Grand Rapids, MI, was arrested for Driving While License Revoked and a valid Ogle County Warrant for Failure to Appear-Driving While License Revoked.  Jones was transported to the Whiteside County Jail, where he was held in lieu of bond and for court on Felony charges.  Morrison Police Department assisted on scene.

On 4-20-19 at 12:13 a.m., Emily P. Scott, age 22 of Pekin, IL, was stopped for an equipment violation in Sterling, IL.  She was ultimately cited for No Rear Registration Light and processed for DUI-Drugs at the Rock Falls Police Department.  Her passenger, Dylan R. Feaster, age 23 also of Pekin, was cited for Possession of Medical Cannabis in a Motor Vehicle.  Both bonded and were released without incident.  Sterling Police, Rock Falls Police, and Slim-n-Hank’s Towing assisted on scene.

On 4-20-19 at 10:59 p.m., Lauren A. Musselman, age 19 of Sterling, IL, was stopped for an equipment violation on Habben and Hazel Roads, rural Sterling.  Musselman was cited for No Rear Registration Light, Zero Tolerance Implied Consent, and Unlawful Possession of Alcohol by a Minor.  She was processed on scene and released on bond without incident.  Illinois State Police and Slim-n-Hank’s Towing assisted on scene.

On 4/21/19 at 1:21 a.m., Whiteside County Deputies, Fulton Fire, Fulton EMS, Clinton Fire, Clinton Fire EMS, Morrison Police, and Fulton Police responded to a single-vehicle roll-over crash with occupant ejection and multiple injuries, near Penrose Road and Smaltz Road.  Upon further investigation, Kylie A. Weerts, age 22 of Sterling, IL, was arrested for Driving Too Fast for Conditions, Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, and Failure to Wear a Seatbelt.  More charges are pending after further investigation.  The passengers, Morgan A. Arellano, age 18 of Dixon, IL, Kimberly N. Kent, age 22 of Rock Falls, IL, and a 17-year-old male from Rock Falls were all cited for Failure to Wear a Seatbelt.  All occupants were transported to Mercy North, Clinton, IA, for further medical treatment; Arellano was airlifted to Rockford, IL.  Weerts was traveling eastbound on Penrose Road when she failed to negotiate the curve and traveled into the north ditch, which caused the vehicle to roll, landing back on its wheels.  Midwest Towing assisted on scene.

On 4-21-19 at 8:55 p.m., following the report from a private citizen of a reckless driver, Marrissa R. Fritsche, age 39 of Winnebago, IL, was stopped in Sterling, IL, and arrested for two counts of DUI.  She was processed at the Sterling Police Department and released on bond, pending a future court appearance.   lllinois State Police and Slim-n-Hank’s Towing assisted on scene.

On 4-22-19 at 12:08 a.m., a 17-year-old Sterling, IL, Male was stopped on Woodlawn Road, rural Sterling, for equipment violations.  He was cited for Expired Registration Sticker (February 2018) and No Valid Driver’s License-Graduated License Curfew.  His passenger, a 15-year-old Rock Falls, IL, Male, was arrested for Curfew.  Both were released to the custody of their parents, pending future court proceedings.
