On Monday, January 13, 2014, four Seahorses traveled to Freeport, IL, High School to swim in the Winter Time Trials, hosted by the Freeport Aquatic Swim Team. The meet was set up to allow swimmers to swim longer events which they normally don’t have the opportunity to swim in regular swim meets. This also gives swimmers another chance to try to make Regional cuts.
Freestyle, butterfly, and individual medley were the events the kids could compete in at this meet. The meet ended with another Regional qualifier for the Seahorses! Landri Harmon–shown below–swam a Regional time in the 500 Freestyle and Kate Henson swam another Regional time in the 100 Individual Medley. Harmon will join teammates BayLeigh Brewer, Skylar Drolema, and Kate Henson at the 2014 Speedo Illinois Swimming Winter Regional Championship Meet in Barrington, IL, on Friday, February 28, through Sunday, March 2, 2014. Kate Henson – 100 IM – 1:24.90 (*Regional Time) – 1st Place.
Mixed Open Events:
Gracen Harmon – 50 Free – 31.91 (B Time) – 7thPlace, 200 Fly – 3:11.34 – 1st Place.
Landri Harmon – 500 Free – 8:14.37 (*Regional Time) – 2nd Place.
Emily Henson – 200 Fly – 3:17.89 – 2nd Place.
Kate Henson – 100 Free – 1:14.27 (BB Time) – 6th Place.
