Anna M. Ellis, 96, of Resthave Home, Morrison, IL, died Tuesday April 4, 2017, at Resthave Home.
Anna was born January 11, 1921, in Fulton, IL, to Jacob M. and Bessie (Houzenga) Huizenga. She was educated in the Round Grove School of rural Whiteside County. Anna married Gale E. Ellis on December 13, 1945, in Morrison. He died August 24, 2014. Anna was a homemaker and was also employed by Climco in Morrison. She enjoyed sewing, baking, gardening, and playing cards.
Survivors include two daughters, Betty (Charles) Townsend of Tularosa, NM, and Judy (Ken) Tiesman of Fulton; one son, Jerry (Betty) Ellis of Fulton; five grandchildren, Christopher (Janie) Landherr, Pamela (Randy) Harmon, Cathy (Dean) Nutt, Lisa (fiancé Pete Stone) Ehlers, and Matthew (Katrina) Tiesman; ten great-grandchildren; one son-in-law, Archie Schaefer of Morrison; one sister, Dorothy Bush of Morrison.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gale; one daughter, Marjorie Schaefer; one grandson, Michael Townsend; one sister, Tena VanDyke; two brothers, Marvin and John J. Huizenga.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 8, 2017, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home in Morrison, IL
OFFICIATING: Rev. Edie Lenz, Pastor of First Reformed Church in Fulton, IL
VISITATION: 9:30 a.m., Saturday, April 8, 2017, until the time of the service, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home
INTERMENT: Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison, IL
