Watch bees in two Observation Beehives. There is a large display of free-form honeycomb, which still contains golden honey. Sample three local flavors.
Also, taste a blend of silver maple and walnut syrup, from trees tapped in January and February.
Children may participate in a number of fun activities:
- make “silhouette” sun prints with found objects (if the sun cooperates.)
- use a vacuum gun to collect and view bugs, NOT BEES, then release them.
- follow the Storybook Trail from station-to-station, reading the pages.
- observe bee larvae eat their way out of the honeycomb
- enjoy hands-on-activities.
