Amanda Cook and Andrea Allen are two of the coaches of Morrison High School cheerleaders. On Saturday afternoon, July 17, 2013, Cook was coaching adults in a parking lot at Hilltop Lanes, 629 E. Lincolnway Road, Morrison, IL. Traditional songs “Loyalty” and “Hey!” helped with the timing. Left-to-right are Heather Lindstrom, Cook, Carol Wolf, Allen, and Elayna Lambert.
They practiced for the 5:00 p.m. Alumni Football USA game in Sterling, IL, where adult Mustangs face adult Comets from Sterling Newman Central. Advanced ticket sales yielded $4180 for the Morrison football program.
Cook listed ten women she expects to participate in this first alumni event: Jennifer Alvarado, Jill Baird, Amanda Blean, Julie Boelkins, Jann Brackemyer, Kristi Cobo, Bobbi Jo Prins, Jean Ridley, Carlie Schoaf, and Jenny Vincelli.
Inside the building Kelly McDonnell and others served lunch, as an additional fundraiser. The meal also was available at 7:30, after the game.
The team arrived via Wiersema Travel Service, Inc. to greet well-wishers before a 1:44 send-off.
