Albany, IL, celebrated Memorial Day on Monday, May 30, 2022, at Lusk Cemetery. Hanson-Kennedy American Legion Post conducted the ceremony.
They said a quick prayer; read names of veterans buried in this cemetery, from a Revolutionary War patriot to modern day military members; fired a 21-gun salute; played “Taps.”
Alexander Thompson is the only Revolutionary War Patriot buried in Whiteside County. Members of National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, Rock River Chapter, held a rededication marker ceremony on Sunday, May 22, 2022.
