Albany Food Pantry was reorganized in late 2018, as a mission of Albany United Methodist Church.  A Board of Directors was formed, consisting of representatives from the Methodist and Catholic Churches, local business community, and local bank.  The board expanded the pantry’s outreach by removing the need for proof of income. It expanding the hours, to allow clients to pick up commodities every other week.

Open hours are Monday mornings from 9:00 ro 10:30 a.m. and by appointment, in the event of an emergency.  The only requirement to use the food pantry is to have an Albany address.

Through an ongoing partnership with Clinton, IA, Hy-Vee, food pantry clients can pick up bakery items every week.

Recognizing that the current pandemic has increased the need for basic food and household maintenance items, the Board encourages anyone who is experiencing a need, to make use of the resources Albany Food Pantry can provide.
