Across the world, there are now 100,000,000 credit union members. Two such local financial institutions in Morrison, IL, are Advantage One, and Morrison Community Federal, Credit Union.
In honor of International Credit Union Day, Thursday, October 16, 2014, Advantage One Credit Union treated surprised customers to a buffet lunch at Movie Magic, 633 E. Lincolnway, Morrison. The unannounced “mob hit” was a hit with dine-in patrons from noon to 1:00 p.m.
As people entered the dining room, Michelle Meinsma, Member Services Representative, and Chair of the Credit Committee of the Board of Directors Carolyn Wohrley distributed tickets that would pay for their meal. Lynn Dykstra, left, receives a complimentary ticket from Meinsma.
Les and Joyce Mathew enjoyed the buffet options. There were four pizzas; three soups; cheese bread slices; a lavish salad bar; apple-pecan dessert pizza; fountain beverages. The menu is available for $6.99, Monday through Saturday, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. In addition, between 4:00 and 9:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, the menu choices expand with a taco bar and macaroni or hamburgers. The price is $7.49 at that time.
It was a pleasant meal for two Riches from Emmanuel Reformed Church in Morrison, too. Rich Davis, left, has been the local Senior Pastor for two months, beginning on Sunday, August 17, but he has been a pastor for a decade. He and wife Shauna, right, moved from River Forest, IL, with their three children: Tyler, 10; Kamryn, 8; Nathan, 5. Rich Criss, center, is the Ministry Coordinator at ERC.
