Less than two weeks before classes resume at Morrison Community Unit School District #6, Superintendent of Schools Scott Vance was at the Sauk Valley Foodbank on Thursday, August 6, 2015, to pick up “Back to School” supplies for students at all schools. Behind Vance is Junior High Principal Joe Robbins.
Supplies were provided by United Way of Whiteside County–with a donation from Farmers National Bank in Morrison, IL–plus supplies donated at the Morrison Chamber of Commerce “Back To School Bash,” Saturday, August 1.
There were 550 students identified by the Morrison Schools as being eligible for free supplies.
The United Way of Whiteside County provides funding for 16 health and service programs in the Morrison area.
