Adeline Port, 90, died Monday, April 20, 2015 at Pleasantview Nursing Home.
Adeline was born March 2, 1925, in Morrison, IL. She was the daughter of Ralph and Mary (Bonneur) Holesinger. She married Wilbur Port on November 23, 1943, in Argo Fay, IL. He preceded her in death on August 18, 2008. Adeline farmed with her husband, Wilbur, in the Sterling and Morrison area for many years. They enjoyed growing vegetables and canning the produce they grew. Adeline was a great cook, did beautiful handwork, and loved to play cards, and visit family. She was a member of Bethel Reformed Church, Sterling, IL.
Survivors include three sons; John (Linda) Port of Morrison, Roland (Sally) Port of O’Fallon, IL, and James (Karen) Port of Sterling; one Daughter-in-law, Dana Port of Dixon; ten grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur; one son, Randy; one daughter, Nancy Meade; one sister, Eleanor Tervelt, and two brothers, Gerald and Marvin Holesinger.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 11:30 a.m. Friday, April 24, 2015, at Bethel Reformed Church, Sterling.
OFFICIATING: Reverand Gary Dekoekkoek, Pastoer, Bethel Reformed Church, Sterling.
VISITATION: 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, April 23, 2015 at Bethel Reformed Church.
INTERMENT: Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison.
