Adam H. Yoeckel, Jr., age 96, of Morrison, IL, died Thursday, February 22, 2024, at Rock River Hospice and Home in Sterling, IL.
Adam was born August 26, 1927, in Wacker, IL, the son of Adam H., Sr. and Irene (Remery) Yoeckel. He married Helen Bartz on July 24, 1948, in Savanna, IL. She preceded him in death on January 30, 2017. Adam was employed as a Farmer and also worked at Ratzlauff Ford Implement in Rock Falls, IL, for over 20 years. He enjoyed woodworking and was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church in Rock Falls.
He is survived by his children, Rosemary (Donald) Becker of Gotha, FL, and Peter (Marsha) Yoeckel of Rock Falls; son-in-law, Philip Hamstra of Morrison; sisters, Arlene (Norris) Crozier of Rock Falls and Myrna Foley of MN; brothers, Myron “Bud” Yoeckel of Moline, IL, Edward Yoeckel of Hardy, AR, and Henry Eugene “Babe” (Sharon) Yoeckel of Lanark, IL; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; daughter, Sally Hamstra; sisters, Marjorie Stewart, Effie Drain, and Alice Basil; brother-in-law, Jim Foley; two sisters-in-law, Ann Yoeckel and Ella Yoeckel.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 26, 2024, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Rock Falls, IL.
Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., at the church, with Reverend Richard Russo officiating.
Burial will follow at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling, IL.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to St. Andrew Catholic Church.
