She has designed an amazing giveaway, as a way to give back to her community. Taylor teamed with dance instructor LeAnn Schaefer, to offer a free year of dance lessons to one lucky child. Classes will be held at LeAnn’s Dance Connection (LDC) studio, 107 Sawyer Road, in Morrison, across the road from DQ Grill & Chill.
This month, Schaefer began her 15th year of instruction. Sessions will resume Monday, August 21, after a week off during the Whiteside County Fair. LDC offers classes for students in preschool through high school: ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, and tumbling. Pointe lessons begin in fifth grade. Boys’ hip hop classes start after Christmas.
Taylor explained, “I just like the arts. If you know a child in the community who would love the chance to dance, but may not have the financial ability to do so, please email a submission to lularoecourtneytaylor@gmail.com. Please use ‘DANCE’ as the subject of your email for your submission/s, and include a phone contact.”
“If you do not have email but have someone in mind, call Courtney Taylor at 815-718-5268.”
Submissions are welcome through Wednesday, August 30, 2017. “We will select a winner on Thursday, August 31,” stated Taylor.
