Payton J. Cook, 17, of Morrison, IL, died Sunday, March 6, 2016, as a result of an automobile accident.
Payton was born June 4, 1998, in Iowa City, IA, to Timothy J. Cook and Kaitlin S. “Carri” Van Roekel. He was educated in the Cedar Rapids, IA, grade and high schools and was currently attending Morrison High School in Morrison. Payton loved football, basketball, lifting, fishing, hanging with his friends, family, dogs, video games, being the class clown, and making everyone around him feel special, just for being themselves.
Survivors include his mother, Kaitlin “Carri” Van Roekel of Bettendorf, IA; his father, Timothy J. Cook of Mechanicsville, IA; grandparents, Paula McKee of Morrison, Klarene Cook of Mechanicsville, Spencer (Joyce) Van Roekel of Siloam Springs, AR; many uncles, aunts, and cousins.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 11, 2016, at Emmanuel Reformed Church, Morrison, IL
CO-OFFICIATING: Rev. Dick Adams, Pastor of First Baptist Church in Morrison, IL, and Pastor Mark Cannon, Hope Baptist Church in Bettendorf, IA
VISITATION: 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 10, 2016, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home
INTERMENT: Clinton Lawn Cemetery, Clinton, IA
In respect of Payton’s lifestyle, it is requested that guests attending visitation and funeral service wear very casual attire.
