The 2nd Grade Class of Northside Elementary School, 520 N. Genesee Street, Morrison, IL, proudly presented a music program on Thursday, March 3, 2016, beginning at 6:30 p.m. “In the Wild!” was held down the street, in the Morrison High School Auditorium, 643 Genesee Avenue. There are 84 students in four classes.
Director Samantha Scholl was assisted by accompanist Julia Deter on piano.
Scholl stated, “Special thanks to all the teachers and staff who made this evening possible!”
Half a dozen songs included, ” Do Re Mi,” “Everybody Wants to Be a Cat,” “Baby Bumblebee,” “In the Wild,” “I Bought Me a Cat,” and “Chicken Rap.”
Tunes were interspersed with commentary and poetry by small groups of children, for example:
“My dog ate my homework. That mischievous pup got hold of my homework and gobbled it up. My dog ate my homework. It’s gonna be late. I guess that the teacher will just have to wait. My dog ate my homework. He swallowed it whole. I shouldn’t have mixed it with food in his bowl.”
