National Blood Donor Month

BloodDonorBoyThis photograph is intriguing.  We know the child is not a blood donor.  Are family members donors? recipients? American Red Cross workers?  Is the person receiving a transfusion someone he knows?

He is the recipient.  His message of appreciation is a testament to all who donate blood.

January is National Volunteer Blood Donor Month.  It is the perfect time of year to choose to become a life saver.

Donating an hour of your time and a pint of your blood six times during the coming year defines you as a “hero,” to the 18-to-24 people whose lives you will save.  That is a powerful and easy New Year’s Resolution.

American Red Cross Blood Drive Director Kaywyn Beswick offers an incentive to encourage January donors.  All those who attend the ARC Drive on Thursday, January 21, 2016, will be entered in a drawing for a gift card.

Donations will be taken at Morrison United Methodist Church, 200 W. Lincolnway, Morrison, IL, beginning at noon.  Schedule your appointment with Beswick by calling 815-718-5117

Walk-ins are welcome.  Be spontaneous!  Be magnanimous!
