32nd Annual Bald Eagle Watch

JackieEagle2The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Mississippi River Project, U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Clinton Community College, and the Stewards of the Upper Mississippi River Refuge will host the 32nd Annual Bald Eagle Watch on Saturday, January 9, 2016.  The event will feature a live bald eagle, conservations groups, artists, drawings for door prizes, and refreshments. 

Attend from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. to view exhibits and watch education programs.
 

  • Educational programs and environmental exhibits will be held at Clinton Community College, 1000 Lincoln Boulevard, Clinton, IA. 
  • Eagle viewing will be held at Lock and Dam #13 in Fulton, IL, off Highway 84.

This year’s schedule follows:

9:30 a.m. – Welcome
9:45 a.m. – “Live Birds of Prey”– presented by SOAR (Saving Our Avian Resources), Dedham, IL 
11:15 a.m. – “Who Lives with Eagles”– David Stokes, Naturalist, West Berlin, IL
12:50 p.m. – People’s Choice – Photo Contest winner announced
1:00 p.m. – “Live Birds of Prey” – Bald Eagle and other raptors.    

A courtesy bus shuttle will be provided between Clinton Community College and Lock and Dam #13, departing and arriving every hour, beginning at 10:00 a.m. and concluding at 2:00 p.m.  Please note that there will be extremely limited parking at Lock and Dam #13 due to construction.  Please use the courtesy bus shuttle that is provided.
