Joseph Zipprich, age 66, died Tuesday, December 15, 2015, at his home, following an extended illness.
Joe was born on April 23, 1949, in Chicago, IL, the son of Jerome and Marie (Ulie) Zipprich. He married Susan Kutella on December 24, 1982, in Chicago, and they had two daughters. He later married Susan Volkert on November 9, 2006, in Morrison, IL. Joe was employed as a Firefighter-Paramedic by the West Chicago Fire Department for 20 years and as a Paramedic in Morrison the last ten years. He served his Country in the United States Navy, during the Vietnam War and later in the Naval Reserves.
Survivors include, his wife Susan Zipprich of Fulton, IL; two daughters, Erika (Jay) Haase of Hampshire, IL, and Catherine (Michael) Harrison of Oak Park, IL; two step-daughters, Rachel (Chris) Price of Clinton, IA, and Brooke (Joe) Johnson of Morrison; one step-son, Brad Volkert of Geneseo, IL; 11 grandchildren.
Graveside services with military honors will be held at a later date at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Joliet., IL.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
Arrangements were completed by the McDonald Funeral Home in Fulton.
