Darrel C. Spencer, age 64 of Milledgeville, IL, died Wednesday, December 16, 2015, at Resthave Nursing Home in Morrison, IL.
Darrel was born on August 14, 1951, in Sterling, IL, the son of Frank “Gail” and Edna (Byvick) Spencer. He is a United States Marine Veteran. Darrel was employed by the Illinois Department of Employment Security for 30 years, retiring in 2006. He was a member of the Rice Lake American Legion, AM VETS, Disabled American Veterans, and the Moose Club. Darrel enjoyed four-wheeling and playing cards and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.
Survivors include his mother, Edna Spencer of Rock Falls, IL; two sons, Andy (Tonya) Spencer of Walnut, IL, and Nick (Amy) Spencer of Des Moines, IA; two sisters, Linda (Tim) Voss of Morrison and Kalah (Dave) Knutti of Chadwick, IL; five grandchildren, Drew, Sarah, Beau, Alex, and Lila.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Visitation will be Sunday, December 20, 2015, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., at the McDonald Funeral Home, 520 Holcomb Avenue, in Milledgeville, IL.
Funeral service will be Monday, December 21, 2015, at 10:00 a.m., at Dutchtown Church of the Brethren in Milledgeville, IL.
Burial with full Military Honors will follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Dutchtown Church of the Brethren.
