The Morrison Chamber of Commerce and its Christmas Walk Committee would like to thank everyone who came to Morrison’s 2015 “Christmas Around the World” Christmas Walk, held on Saturday, December 5, 2015.  It was great to see so many people enjoying the parade; downtown businesses; church suppers; decorated windows; holiday music; our attempt to set a Snowman World Record!

We would also like to thank those who helped make this event a success.  This includes all parade and post-parade participants and volunteers, as well as our event sponsors:

  • Advantage One Credit Union
  • Carillon Communications
  • Community State Bank
  • Farmers National Bank
  • Morrison Auto Supply/CarQuest
  • Morrison Community Hospital, who also turned Main Street’s pocket park into a Winter Wonderland for Santa’s house
  • Open Bible Fellowship
  • Sterling Federal Bank
  • Triumph Community Bank
  • United Methodist Church
  • Wells Fargo Bank
  • Whiteside News Sentinel.

We send a special thank you to B & H Contractors, Inc. for sponsoring the 2015 Morrison Christmas Tree.

There were 30 entries in the lighted Christmas parade.  Congratulations to the following parade winners:

  • Best Use of Theme:  Open Bible Fellowship
  • Best Entry by a Business:  Community State Bank
  • Best Entry by a Community Group:  Henry C. Adams Memorial Library, Prophetstown, IL
  • Best Decorated Vehicle:  Morrison Schools Foundation
  • Most Spirited Entry:  United Methodist Church/First Presbyterian Church Kids for Christ.

The winner of the best decorated holiday window downtown was White Oaks Therapeutic Equestrian Center (WHOA), who decorated the Kophamer-Blean Realty window located at 118 E. Main Street, Morrison.  The window was inspired by Rhonda Veracini and decorated by her, Kendra Kophamer, Colby Richmond, and Kaylee Doebler.

Thank you again.  We wish you all a happy and safe holiday season!
