Stephanie Deckro Earns Fifth Rotary Recognition

Posted by

StephanieDeckroCongratulations to Stephanie Deckro, Morrison, IL, on a milestone that is not easily achieved.  She received a “Paul Harris Plus 4” pin from Chairman Phil Renkes.

The Paul Harris Society, named for Rotary’s founder, is made up of dedicated supporters who annually contribute $1000 or more to the Annual Fund, PolioPlus, or an approved Rotary Foundation grant.

Stephanie has achieved this level five times.

With her gift she is promoting peace; fighting disease; providing clean water; saving mothers and children; supporting education; growing local economies through grants.

Her contributions have helped achieve the following milestones around the world:

  • bring peace-building seminars to 200 teachers and 1300 students in Uganda.
  • distribute insecticide-treated mosquito nets and medical services that help prevent malaria in Mali.
  • train teachers who are establishing an early childhood education center in South Africa.
  • provide water filters, toilet blocks, and hygiene training to prevent fluorosis in a community in India.
  • fund a scholarship for a medical professional, to research treatment to minimize mortality rates among premature babies in Italy.
  • protect children around the world from polio.

Thanks–again–Stephanie Deckro!
