Wierenga’s Heritage Canyon Christmas December 5

Posted by

Stroll back to an early Christmas time with the Early American Crafters as they portray life in the 1800’s during the holiday season. Heritage Canyon will be decked out in its finest, during the Christmas Walk, Saturday, December 5, 2015, from noon to 7:00 p.m.  Lantern and candle light will add to the ambiance.

Nestled in a hidden former quarry, Wierenga’s Heritage Canyon is located at 515 N. 4th Street, Fulton, IL.  Eleven decorated buildings will be accessible to the pubic.  Each interprets life in the late 19th century.

“Hot cocoa and Canyon Tea will be waiting at the Ice Cream Shop to warm your body and soul,” stated interpreter Catherine Gravert.

Harold and Thelma Wierenga began the tradition of inviting surrounding communities to the Canyon at Christmas, with no admission charged.  It was–and continues to be–a means of thanking visitors who enjoy this charming recreated village.

Happy Holidays from Heritage Canyon!
