Seven Senior members of the Morrison High School Cheerleading and Pons squads will participate in this year’s Spirit of America production at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade®. They are part of a 650-member group that will perform a high-energy cheerleading production number. Performers are selected by invitation and/or qualification, through summer cheer and dance camps and award-winning teams.

While in New York City, NY, girls will experience the “Rockettes” at the Radio City Music Hall Christmas Spectacular; see a Broadway show; climb to the top of the Empire State Building; view the Statue of Liberty; enjoy sites and sounds of Times Square; most of all, perform in the parade.

Because of generous support from the community, Morrison High School has been able to send many girls over the years on this trip of a lifetime. This year is no different. The girls are sincerely grateful for all of the donations received to help them experience this ultimate holiday tradition.

The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade® begins at 8:00 a.m. (Central Standard Time), Thursday, November 26, 2015. The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade® Herald Square performance will be broadcast on NBC sometime between 9:00 a.m. and noon. Morrison girls will be costumed in a purple cheerleading uniform emblazoned with an orange star and coordinating pompoms.

This year’s participants are, left-to-right, Demery Haan, Kelsey Becker, Sydney Beveroth, Molly Mickley, Lydia Bender, Brooklyn Gallentine, and Ashley Hagerman.
