Dear Editor:
The Morrison Athletic Boosters would like to thank everyone who attended the Donkey Basketball game on Saturday, November 14, 2015. A night of family fun was enjoyed by everyone and many, many laughs were had by all!
We would also like to thank the riders from the Morrison Businesses, Morrison Fire Department, Morrison Teachers, and Morrison Athletic Boosters for providing a wild and crazy donkey basketball show!
Thank you to everyone who lead a donkey and helped kids on and off the donkeys, so all the kids could enjoy free donkey rides.
Thank you to the Morrison High School Cheerleaders for cheering the teams and for the donkey tattoos.
We would like to thank the following for their help throughout the evening: Cassie Osborn, Boone Brackemyer, Ashlyn Wieneke, Randy Stralow, Julia Deter, LuAnn Wieneke, Susan Wilkens, Dale Vos, and Dan Cook. Without their help the evening could not have been possible.
Thank you to Mrs. Oetting, Mrs. Scott, and Mr. Dolan for graciously agreeing to participate in the “Kiss the Donkey” contest. Mr. Dolan accumulated the most money and was lucky enough to kiss the donkey.
Thank you to Angie VanderVinne, Farmers Insurance Office, for offering a place for pre-ticket sales. Also, thank you to school secretaries Shannon Huizenga, Sheila Richmond, Kolleen Pannier and Brandy Wren for helping with pre-ticket sales and “Kiss the Donkey” contest collections.
The Morrison Athletic Boosters are able to support the athletics of the Morrison Junior High School and Morrison High School because of the support of the community at events like this.
Throughout the year, Morrison Athletic Boosters provides tournament entry fees for high school and junior high school sports; equipment for boys and girls basketball, football, softball, and baseball, volleyball, boys and girls track, pons, cheer, and swimming; plaques to recognize State qualifiers.
Over the past few years, we have also purchased weight room equipment; a mini-bus; high school gym safety mats; a wrestling mat; plaques to recognize State qualifiers and winners.
