Executive Director Michael Saad stated, “This Veterans Day we are going to be having a big celebration for the Veterans and Legionnaires of Morrison and the surrounding areas, at Windsor Manor” Assisted Living Community, 403 Scenic Street, Morrison, IL.
“Recently Elmer Prins’s family graciously donated memorial money to our community. With this donation, we have purchased a 35′ flag pole and a 5′ x 8′ U. S. Flag. On Veterans Day[, Wednesday, November 11, 2015, at 8:30 a.m.] this year we are dedicating the flag pole in Elmer’s honor and in honor of all those who have served.”
The public dedication is being handled by the Morrison American Legion Post #328.
Following this, Windsor Manor will host a free breakfast at their Scenic Café for area veterans, their spouses, family, and friends. The Breakfast Brunch will include
- biscuits and gravy
- scrambled eggs
- bacon
- coffee cake
- juices
- coffee
- milk.
“It’s our way of remembering Elmer, saying thank you to his family for the donation, and thanking all the veterans in the area for their service, sacrifice, and dedication for our freedom,” concluded Saad.
