Laura Moldt, age 93, of Rock Falls, IL, died Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at Resthave Nursing Home in Morrison, IL.
Laura, daughter of Victor and Marie DeKeyser, was born on October 16, 1922, in Oelwein, IA. She graduated from Annawan High School. She was a homemaker, worked at Dixon State School then at General Electric in Morrison. She was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, Altar & Rosary Society, and the Elks of Sterling-Rock Falls, IL. She enjoyed her time as a volunteer for the American Red Cross in Rock Falls.
She married Louis DeMay in 1940. He preceded her in death. She married Jay Moldt in 1970. He preceded her in death in 2003.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Marilyn Stram; six brothers and four sisters.
She is survived by three daughters, Marge (Chuck) Koehler, Judith (Terry) Hadaway, both of Rock Falls, and Laura (Bob) Stahl of Bellvue, CO; three sons, Lou (Jan) DeMay, Patrick (Dawn) DeMay, both of Rock Falls, and Tom (Sue) DeMay of Morrison; one sister, Clara Walgrave of Kewanee, IL; two step-daughters, Chris Poggenpohl of Camanche, IA, and Bambi (David) Jordan of Eldon, MO; 20 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter.
Visitation will be Friday, October 30, 2015, from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m., at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Rock Falls, IL.
Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the church, with Reverend Thomas Dzielak officiating.
Private family burial will be at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling, IL, at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established to St. Andrew’s Parish Hall and the American Red Cross.
