On Wednesday, October 7, 2015, Gary M. Tresenriter, City of Morrison Director of Public Works, provided this update on street repairs.
- This morning I met with Steve Roady with Civil Constructors, IL. Today they are installing a handicap ramp at Pine and S. Jackson [Streets].
- Tomorrow[, Thursday, October 8,] they will start adjusting manholes.
- Friday[, October 9,] they will begin excavating for base repairs.
- One or two days next week, they will return to complete the base repairs.
On Monday, October 19, they plan to begin grinding. Once the grinding is complete, they will be laying blacktop.
Due to safety concerns and the size of the areas that need to be excavated…there will be times when E. Wall [Street] will be closed to through eastbound traffic at IL Route 78 and westbound traffic at Ash Street.
S. Jackson [Street] between E. Wall and Maple Streets will also need to be closed to through traffic for a day or two. S. Jackson at E. Main Street may also be closed for a short time.
The contractor will be sure local traffic can get in and out of their driveways.
All roads will be open nightly.
This timeline is, of course, weather permitting.
