At 4:00 p.m., two Morrison Veterinary Clinic (MVC) doctors and support staff were presented with a Morrison Chamber of Commerce “Because Nice Matters” Service Award, on Wednesday, September 30, 2015. The clinic is located at 14993 Lyndon Road at U. S. Route 30. Since 1942 this mixed-animal practice has served the health needs of livestock and pets, both in and beyond Morrison, IL.
Several reasons from multiple persons supported this nomination.
- “All of the staff at the Veterinary Clinic are extremely friendly and helpful.”
- “Regardless if you have a pet or livestock, the veterinarians are quick to help out a sick or injured animal.”
- One nominee from away knew “where Morrison, IL, was because of the quality Vet Clinic.”
- A “sick animal was brought in and received almost immediate attention. [The owner] felt [their] pet was the most important.”
Four Doctors of Veterinary Medicine are on staff: Sarah Blair (2), Serena Lawfer (2), Calvin R. Vandermyde (28), and Ryan Zinke (11.) Numbers indicate years of employment at MVC. A full range of service is available, spanning an animal’s life: routine care; inoculation; pregnancy, delivery–including cesarean section–sterilization; surgery; species-specific treatment.
