FallHeritage Canyon, 515 N. 4th Street, Fulton, IL, is a 12-acre wooded site ideal for nature walks, throughout the seasons.  The cost to traverse Heritage Canyon is by donations only, which are used for improvement of the park.  Heritage Canyon is dotted with 11 buildings and two bridges that take visitors back to the 1800’s.  In 1967, Harold and Thelma Wierenga bought the abandoned limestone quarry and transformed it into a charming recreated village.

During Special Events, the Early American Crafters, Civil War reenactors, and other historical groups take visitors back in time, as they recreate history in the mid-1800’s.  Admission is $2 per adult and $1 per child.

Two 2015 autumnal Special Events at Heritage Canyon are noted.

  • Fall Festival, Saturday, September 26, and Sunday, September 27, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  Early American Crafters and others will interpret life in the 19th century.  Food and baked goods for purchase and music will add to your enjoyment.
  • Beggar’s Night, allows children to trick-or-treat at the buildings, Saturday, October 17, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.  Please provide a container for each child’s treats.
